Paid Leadership Opportunities at the Lindy Center
The Lindy Center for Civic Engagement is eager to work with engaged, passionate students in various leadership positions. Student employees are all trained in the mission and values of the Center and many have the opportunity to join us for events, act as mentors to fellow students, and assist us with outreach to new audiences around campus.
Opportunities include the following - click through to find out more about qualifications for each role and how to apply.
- Administrative Assistants: Administrative Assistants work at the Lindy Center and increase our office's capacity to welcome students into our space, give visitors assistance with Lindy Center services such as volunteer opportunities, and help with special projects and events. At this time we are only able to hire students with work-study funding for these roles.
-
Course Assistants for Community-Based Learning Courses: Community-Based Learning (CBL) Courses unite classroom learning with engagement, group dialogue, and guided reflection to give students a deeper understanding of pressing social issues in our world and develop the necessary relationships and tools to participate in collective, public problem solving. CBL Course Assistants, which includes CIVC 101 Course Assistants, provide additional capacity to instructors and professors teaching these courses and act as peer leaders in the classroom and beyond.
- Drexel Community Collaborators: Drexel Community Collaborators work with non-profit and community partners to provide direct and indirect service to communities throughout Philadelphia. Through sustained volunteering for the duration of one or two terms as a time, students have the opportunity to both engage with community members and support the sustainability of their organization they are partnered with. Students who have work-study funding can use that to be compensated for their DCC work.
Throughout the year, we may have additional employment opportunities; be sure to sign up for our newsletter and follow our social media pages (Facebook and Instagram) to learn about these and other opportunities as they come up.
